Your Personal Vision Board

What is a VISION?

Vision is a mental picture of the future. It is an idea of what the future can hold but has not yet happened.

Vision is the thing inside of us that guides us. It creates a desire to grow and improve. Vision embodies our hopes and ideals. It gives us a sense of purpose. Visions bring us flashes or glimpses of what is possible. It is another outworking of the “Law of Attraction.”

Do Vision Boards work?

Yes! But you must also put in the work; you cannot just sit there and expect things to happen. That is not the way it works. As with most things in life, you receive in proportion to what you put in.

How to create a Vision Board

Each of us is blessed with the ability to imagine. And using our imagination enables us to create a mental depiction of some quality of life we enjoy or would like to achieve in the future. For example, a picture of a dollar bill can symbolize our desire for material prosperity, or a jet liner streaking across the sky our desire for world travel. Our earnest desire for romance and a stable relationship can be demonstrated by a picture of a beautiful wedding dress, or rings, or some other article that represents love and affection. Your Vision Board is simply a series of pictures that represent the outcomes you desire placed where you can see, focus, and meditate on the steps needed to make them a reality. As an assist in helping you to envision and construct your personal Vision Board, listed below are seven starter points that you may wish to include in your efforts.

Seven starter points to begin your Vision Board:

  • Hang your vision board where you will see it daily (Mine hangs above my desk).
  • Just make sure to spend five to ten minutes each day reflecting on it, including the emotions and sensory experiences related to each aspect of your vision. If you do that, you’ll make full use of the incredible benefits of a vision board to motivate you to action and make your dream more believable than ever before.
